A Message From Our President
 It is with great pleasure that we present this year's Fiesta. It is with even greater pleasure that we are able to provide academic scholarships to three bright young students who have special dreams and goals. We also are proud to present three Continuing Education Scholarships to students already attending institutions of higher education, helping to make it possible for them to continue their studies. Huerfano County suffers from the out-migration of our youth. Our best and brightest realize that in order to find success and to follow their dreams, it is necessary to leave our communities to pursue careers and ambitions. This is not a bad thing. In order to advance their education, it is necessary to leave the nest and fly on their own. However, it would be great if they were able to get advanced education and then return home to apply their newly gained knowledge and experience to the future of this beautiful county. We must encourage them to do so by attracting business and industry to our area that will create opportunites for personal growth and attractive incomes. The volunteers of La Plaza de Los Leones thank you for your support. Without your support, we would be unable to assist these fine young people in advancing their education. Read about them in this website and we are sure you will agree that they are deserving of the scholarships an that they represent and epitomize the theme of the 34th Annual Fiesta de La Plaza de Los Leones: Huerfano County Youth - The Future Is Bright!
